I attended The Burren College of Art in 2007, and spent a semester there. Not a month goes by when I don't think about my amazing time there, and wish to go back to Ballyvaughn, County Clare... sigh...
The Fifth Race
Inspired by the movie Intermission, and an actual point-to-point (steeple chase) horse race I went to with some friends while in Ireland, I wrote and drew this as part of a show put on by my fellow students who went to The Burren with me.

Pivot Point
I had an instructor at The Burren College of Art in 2007. He told a story of being beaten up as a young catholic in Northern Ireland. He was a gentle, quiet man, but I imagined what would his life be like if he didn't grow up to be an ornathologist and historian of Irish medivel walls.
Now, granted, I take a very broad (maybe poorly informed) view of Northern Irish politics here. But I think the idea was pretty solid, even if the ending could've had some work...
